waclaw wantuch

The subject Matter in this image is smooth and continues line that has an elegant poetic feel with the soft and gentle but yet unnatural touch to it. This subject is made of three main parts the first being the skin and body shape romanticising the female body . Second is the lighting using the highlights and shadow reveal to you the lines, curves and direction of the image . The third is the back ground and foreground to balance the center piece to-gather and not to draw you away from this beautiful scuplure.

Fashion week.

From the quote it was in no uncertainty that he was not very happy with the way woman used the clothes as masks and hide there ugly devite world, By looking bueatiful and pround in what they where told to were by the father or husband making them trophy wifes. Was fashion superficial and did women use it to hide behind. I think that this is still the case today in society woman are under even more pressures to pleases fellow peri and men. Using clothing and fashion as there tools, to be excepted by groups give them a social status. Also fashion is used as a selfestaem and confindent bulider for poeple. So a good old saying that will work with this quote is "don't judge a book by its cover" nor should you jugde a woman by her frock.

Hear are some quote that we can relate to the quote that we where given last week.

Quote 1
At first it appears to simply restate the notion of consuming designer fashion to display status, wealth and power, yet the glittering gold embroidery around the jacket doses not parade the designer's logo to reinforce the wearer's purchasing power but reads: 'waste of money'.

Quote 2
'Consumerism is far more than just economic activity: it is also about dreams and consolation, communication and confrontation, images and identity.

Quote 3
Life is cruel to people who aren't fabulous.

Fashion 17 th century v's 21th century ?

Quote"

" A women which is faire in shew , is foule in condition: she is like unto a glow worme, which is bright in the hedge , and blacke in the hand; in the greenest grasse lyeth hid the greatest serpents: painted potts commonly hold deadly poison: and in the cleersest water the ugliest tode; the fairest woman hath some filthiness in her."

What is this saying about the fashion both now and in past?

Points of discussion
